One of the hardest things to keep up with while traveling is a fitness routine. No matter if you’re on vacation or a business trip, you’re far from home and your favorite places to workout.
While we can boast an amazing view of Lake Superior just outside our doors and a lakewalk with all kinds of exercise opportunities, we know the weather doesn’t always cooperate. That’s why we’ve always maintained a fitness room in our hotel.
Enjoy free weights, treadmills, elliptical, recumbent bike, and more. PLUS, we just upgraded our equipment! Stop by and check out our brand NEW Matrix T3x Treadmill 4.2 hp, Matrix E3x Elliptical, and Matrix R3x Recumbent Cycle.
We understand how important fitness is to your health and good sleep!
Things are lighting up here in canal park and bayfront park in Duluth, MN! Volunteers are working around the clock to put up over 4 million lights in the 20 acre park just off the shore of Lake Superior.
If you’ve never visited Bentleyville “Tour of Lights”, the magic begins this year on November 21, 2015. Bundle up and enjoy a stroll through the park to view the many lighted displays with various themes. Grab a cup of complimentary hot cocoa, cookies, and popcorn, you can even roast a marshmallow over a warm campfire. Get your picture taken with Rudolph or one of the other reindeer (or all of them if your heart desires). Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. Don’t forget your ice skates! Weather permitting, the ice rink will be glistening and holiday music playing.
As always, this is a free event, although donations are appreciated.
It’s an unusually warm and sunny spring here in Duluth, MN, which makes it the perfect time to visit. The summer season hasn’t hit yet. There aren’t many tourists, no bugs, easy parking, quick seating at restaurants. At the end of the day you can unwind and take in the view on our new patio, just built last summer. Nights are still a little chilly, so it’s the perfect place to gather around the fire, listen to the waves crash onto the beach. Before you know it summer will be here and Canal Park will be bustling. Take it from an experienced Duluthian, last year at this time we were still shoveling snow, don’t miss out on this sunny, warm Duluth spring.
We finally hit the mountain bike trails at Spirit Mountain and it was jaw dropping. First, the lift ride up was amazing. These photos don’t do it justice. I can’t even imagine how breath taking it will be when the leaves start turning.
It’s a little odd putting a bike up on the lift instead of skis…
These trails are brand new and really well made. Right now they have four downhill mountain bike trails (Candyland, Smorgasbord, Happy Camper, and Blaster). A couple are beginner/intermediate level, and one is definitely for the more experienced. For those seeking out a technical ride that’ll challenge you, try Smorgasbord and Blaster. For those who’ve never done anything like this, check out this jump!
We highly recommend visiting Spirit Mountain while you’re in Duluth, MN. Even if you don’t bike, they have all kinds of adventures. Take a look for yourself: http://www.spiritmt.com/
Finally, (don’t laugh) taking a video while riding is not recommended, nor is it easy… Watch at your own risk. Those susceptible to motion sickness look away!
