Spirit Mountain, wicked ride, amazing views

Spirit Mountain Biking

We finally hit the mountain bike trails at Spirit Mountain and it was jaw dropping. First, the lift ride up was amazing. These photos don’t do it justice. I can’t even imagine how breath taking it will be when the leaves start turning.

Spirit Mountain Lift

It’s a little odd putting a bike up on the lift instead of skis…

These trails are brand new and really well made. Right now they have four downhill mountain bike trails (Candyland, Smorgasbord, Happy Camper, and Blaster). A couple are beginner/intermediate level, and one is definitely for the more experienced. For those seeking out a technical ride that’ll challenge you, try Smorgasbord and Blaster. For those who’ve never done anything like this, check out this jump!

We highly recommend visiting Spirit Mountain while you’re in Duluth, MN. Even if you don’t bike, they have all kinds of adventures. Take a look for yourself: http://www.spiritmt.com/

Finally, (don’t laugh) taking a video while riding is not recommended, nor is it easy… Watch at your own risk. Those susceptible to motion sickness look away!

5th Annual Duluth Lakewalk Festival 2013

Most school’s have started and the weather is hinting that fall is just around the corner. But I want to hang on to these last few summer days and this weekend has the perfect event to do just that. Join us at Canal Park Lodge in the 5th Annual Lakewalk Festival!

Pick up your passport and get ready to explore. Passports will be available at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center, Canal Park hotels and many Lakeside businesses.

There will be train rides, carriage rides, disc golf, a clown (maybe some balloon animals), free ice cream for those who fill up their passports, and so much more! This is a great event for families. For more details visit: http://lakewalkfestival.com/

Here’s a few images from the fun we had last year!
